Social media can offer a window on a college hockey program, with most players and more and more coaches sharing photos and insight on Twitter, Instagram and other outlets.

There's another group you might not be following - and judging by their follower counts, you aren't. For a true behind-the-scenes look at a program, check out our list of Division I men's hockey equipment managers on Twitter.

Gilly (@NDhockeysk8guy), with 1,133 followers, is the only one on our list to have cracked 1,000 followers.

Typically the first people in the locker room and the last to leave, equipment managers offer a great perspective, particularly on life on the road. Between sharpening skates, repairing gear and doing the laundry, many of them find time to share photos from "the room" and beyond.
