Fifty-two players – including players committed to 15 Division I schools – have been invited to USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program Evaluation Camp that begins next week. The camp, which will help select the 2019-20 U.S. National Under-17 Team, will take place March 21-25 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.
The players – 27 forwards, 19 defensemen and six goaltenders – will be split into three teams for the camp, which features on-ice practices and at least six games.
Fifteen schools have commits on the roster, while 15 more of the invited players have yet to commit to an NCAA school. Miami and Notre Dame (five commits each) have the most representatives invited, followed by Boston University, Northeastern and Penn State (three each).
Fourteen states are represented on the camp roster, led by Michigan (11), Minnesota (10) and Pennsylvania (5).
USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program is in its 22nd season of competition and is based at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich. It has produced 64 NCAA All-Americans and six Hobey Baker Award winners.
