College Hockey kicks off the season with the ice breaker
NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey drops the puck on the 2010 – 11 season on October 8th with the Warrior Ice Breaker Tournament at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The Ice Breaker Tournament marks the start of the new season as 57 teams will try to unseat Boston College as the 2011 NCAA Champion. Adding to the festivities, the weekend will include the Warrior Junior Icebreaker Youth Tourney as well as the St. Louis Blues’ season opener.
The Warrior Ice Breaker Tournament begins Friday evening at 5:30 pm when Holy Cross and Fighting Irish of Notre Dame face off in the first regular season game of the 2010-11 season. Perennial powerhouse Boston University and 2010 NCAA finalist Wisconsin will close out the action at 8:30 pm. The Icebreaker continues on Sunday with the consolation scheduled for 12:00 pm and the championship game at 3:00 pm as each team looks to start the season by bringing home the trophy.
The NHL and youth hockey will also play a major role in the weekend. On Saturday night, the Blues open their season against the Philadelphia Flyers and the Warrior Junior Icebreaker will see more than 125 youth teams from across North America compete in rinks around St Louis. Finally, Warrior Hockey, the title sponsor for the weekend, will have a huge presence throughout the weekend with their Fan Fest Zone and mobile showroom, as well as numerous prizes and giveaways.
All in all, the Warrior Ice Breaker will serve as a weeklong celebration of hockey across North America.
