Backcheck: Ken Morrow

Backcheck: Ken Morrow

Ken Morrow has done it all in hockey. The All-American at Bowling Green went on to win a gold medal with the 1980 U.S. Olympic team and four Stanley Cups with the New York Islanders. He’s now the Islanders’ director of pro scouting.

With all he’s experienced, Morrow will never forget his time at Bowling Green.

“Four of the best years of my life,” he said. “Not only from a hockey standpoint, but from a maturity and becoming a man standpoint.”

College Hockey, Inc. caught up with Morrow in Kansas City, where he makes his home and is eagerly anticipating the 2012 Ice Breaker Tournament. Thanks to his involvement with the Islanders he remains close to the college hockey world and shared his thoughts on the game, as well as his experience.
