Elbrecht to Take Over CHI’s Twitter
Minnesota State captain set to provide inside look at the life of a student-athlete.
College Hockey, Inc. will turn over control of its popular Twitter feed, @collegehockey, to Minnesota State senior Tyler Elbrecht Wednesday, Oct. 24, for a first-person look at the life of a Division I student-athlete.
Elbrecht, a two-year captain of the Mavericks, is an Edwardsville, Ill., native who typically tweets at @Elbrecht16. His Twitter bio states, “Strength, courage, faith, that’s my motto. #SCF. Live every minute of every day.”
“Excited for the privilege to tweet for @collegehockey next Wednesday,” Elbrecht tweeted last week. “Showing the life of a student athlete Mankato style.”
Wednesday Elbrecht will balance classes and workouts as he prepares to lead the unbeaten Mavericks (2-0-2) into their first WCHA series of the year, on the road at St. Cloud State.
The rise of players and coaches on Twitter has given fans and prospective players unique insight into their favorite programs – much like 24/7-style TV and web series have with video. This opportunity will allow Elbrecht to share his perspective with a wider audience and give College Hockey, Inc. followers a chance to ask questions directly of a current student-athlete.
