Every player’s recruiting path to college hockey is unique, and as a walk-on a Boston University, Matt Gilroy’s was different than many of his teammates.

We asked the Hobey Baker winner and national champion – now with the New York Rangers – to reflect on the his experience. His advice to prospective players: don’t forget about the academic side of things.
