Dozens of the Phase 2 selections – which featured players from the 1994 through ’98 birth years – are committed to Division I schools. In the first round alone, 10 of the 18 selections have committed to schools, including three to Dartmouth and two to Bowling Green.

The No. 1 pick in Phase 2, Kyle Sylvester of Warroad High School in Minnesota, was taken by the Fargo Force. He has yet to commit to a school. The top committed player went second overall, as Bowling Green recruit Lukas Craggs was selected by Youngstown.

Monday’s Phase 1 of the draft featured 22 selections who have already committed to schools, which is well more than half of all 1998-born commitments nationwide. Sixteen schools had recruits selected in Phase 1 of the draft, led by Maine and Michigan State with three each.

USHL teams also had the ability to sign up to two 1998s to tenders, with those who did so forfeiting picks in Phase 1 of the draft.
