2015 Ice Breaker Field Revealed
Maine to host Lake Superior State, Michigan State and North Dakota at Portland’s Cross Insurance Arena.
The University of Maine will welcome three other of the sport’s biggest powers to Portland, Maine, this fall for the 2015 Ice Breaker Tournament. Lake Superior State, Michigan State and North Dakota round out the field for the 2015 event.
As a group, the four teams have combined for 15 NCAA titles, providing an exceptional field to celebrate the start of the college hockey season.
“This field will truly showcase college hockey and the teams are excited to come to Portland,” Maine head coach Dennis “Red” Gendron said at a press conference Tuesday at Cross Insurance Arena in downtown Portland.
The arena will showcase recent renovations that include new seating, new hospitality areas and new locker rooms. The tournament, set for Oct. 9-10, lands at a perfect time for visitors to Portland, a popular tourist destination.
