More than 100 current or prospective NCAA players are featured by NHL Central Scouting in its preseason “Players to Watch” list for the 2016 NHL Draft, released Tuesday.

The 119 players on the list represent 34 schools, up slightly from last year’s list which featured 110 players from 31 schools.

Nine current freshmen are featured in the list, including first-round prospect Charlie McAvoy of Boston University. Two BU recruits – Keifer Bellows and Clayton Keller – join McAvoy as “A” prospects, three of the six NCAA representatives considered potential first-round selections.

Thirty-three players on the list are in NCAA-eligible leagues but have yet to commit to a school.

Nine junior leagues and multiple high schools are featured among the NCAA recruits on the Players to Watch list. The USHL leads all junior leagues worldwide with 54 current players featured by NHL Central Scouting.

Boston College, Boston University and Wisconsin lead all schools with six representatives each on the list. Two Badger freshmen – Luke Kunin and Matthew Freytag – are featured. Cornell, Michigan and North Dakota each have five players highlighted.
