CHI Sponsors Bauer World Invite
U16 divisions to compete for College Cup at tournament this weekend in Chicago.
For the sixth straight season, U16 teams at the Bauer World Hockey Invitational will be playing for the College Cup, sponsored by College Hockey, Inc. The event, billed as the world’s largest AAA hockey tournament, will be held Nov. 6-8 in and around Chicago, Ill.
In addition to supporting the 96 teams competing in three U16 divisions, College Hockey Inc. will be on site, meeting with teams and parents to review the college hockey recruiting process.
Director of Education and Recruitment Andrew Thomas will present to bantam major and midget minor teams in separate sessions on Friday, Nov. 6, alongside Doug Christiansen of the USHL and Ryan Hardy from the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.
“Supporting the Bauer World Invite is ideal because we get to see so many players and parents, and the hockey is exceptional,” said Thomas. “Tournament chairperson Kevin Mann and his staff do a tremendous job bringing in 430 teams from every corner of North America. It’s a priviledge to be a part of it.”
Teams that have visited with College Hockey, Inc. at the event in the past have raved about the experience.
“Your presentation was very helpful and informative,” one parent wrote. “I know that the players and coaches enjoyed and appreciated you taking the time to meet with our team.”
The World Hockey Invitational kicks off with opening ceremonies on Thursday, Nov. 5. Games will run through Nov. 8 with 430 teams competing in various age groups and divisions. The U16 teams will compete for the College Cup in three divisions: Supreme, Vapor and Nexus.
