Eleven schools have committed recruits in the tournament, with Boston College, Boston University, Michigan and Minnesota each boasting three. Notre Dame has two commits participating while Brown, Michigan State, North Dakota, Ohio State, Penn State and Western Michigan have one each.

The U.S. team, made up primarily of members of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, opened with a 6-1 win vs. the Czech Republic Sunday, with Minnesota recruit Scott Reedy scoring twice. Future Michigan goalie Dylan St. Cyr stopped 26 shots and was named the player of the game for the U.S.

The eight-team event, which includes three Canadian entries, continues through Saturday.

Western Michigan commit Ian Blacker is the only committed NCAA player on Canada’s teams – he represents Canada Red. There are seven other uncommitted Canadians currently playing in NCAA-eligible junior leagues.
