16 Named to U.S. WJC Camp

Ten schools represented on preliminary National Junior roster; camp set for Dec. 14-18.


16 Named to U.S. WJC Camp
Michigan sophomore Zach Werenski was the No. 8 overall pick of Columbus in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Sixteen current or future NCAA players representing 10 schools are among the 29 players who will attend the pre-tournament training camp for the U.S. National Junior Team, to be held Dec. 14-18 at Boston University.

Two current and three future BU Terriers lead all schools in terms of representation on the roster. Boston College and North Dakota both have two current players selected.

Two defensemen – Minnesota’s Ryan Collins and Michigan’s Zach Werenski – made the preliminary roster after playing for the U.S. in last year’s World Junior Champiuonship.

The 23-man final roster will be announced by Dec. 24. The 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship is set for Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Helsinki, Finland.
