Future college players leading USA Hockey at Ivan Hlinka, Five Nations tournaments.

Future NCAA stars are shining on the international stage this week, leading USA Hockey in the Ivan Hlinka and Five Nations tournaments at the U18 and U17 levels, respectively.

Michigan recruit Michael Pastujov scored in overtime to lift the U.S. Under-18 Select Team to a 4-3 win against Russia and a spot in the championship game at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

The U.S. is undefeated in the tournament, being held in Baclav, Czech Republic, and will face the winner of the Czech Republic-Sweden semifinal in the championship game.

Pastujov has 11 points in five games of the tournament to share the team lead in scoring. St. Cloud State incoming freshman Ryan Poehling shares the team lead with four goals and ranks third with eight points. Northeastern recruit Cayden Primeau has a 4-0-0 record in goal.

At the U17 level, the United States is 2-0-0 at the Five Nations Tournament in Dallas, Texas, entering Friday night’s game. The Americans have outscored their first two opponents by 13 goals combined.

Boston College recruit T.J. Walsh and Minnesota recruit Blake McLaughlin share the tournament lead in scoring with five points each. Gavin Hain (North Dakota), Devlin McCabe (Minnesota Duluth) and Jacob Semik (Michigan) trail closely with four points each.

The U.S. faces 3-0-0 Czech Republic Friday night and Germany on Saturday.
