Canadian network begins NCAA schedule with Friday tripleheader.

Games Return to TSN in 2017-18
TSN will feature the last two NCAA champions as North Dakota visits Denver Friday night.

The excitement of NCAA hockey returns to TSN for a fourth year in a row in 2017-18, beginning with three televised games this Friday night. TSN and College Hockey Inc. unveiled the network’s schedule for November and December, with more games to be added after the new year.

Friday night’s trio of games starts at 8 p.m. ET and will span three of TSN’s five channels:

  • A non-conference matchup of top-15 teams as No. 13 Harvard visits No. 7 Minnesota (8 p.m. ET, TSN5)
  • The last two NCAA champions meeting with No. 3 North Dakota visiting No. 1 Denver (9 p.m. ET, TSN3)
  • The two newest NCAA programs facing off as Arizona State welcomes Penn State to the desert (10 p.m. ET, TSN2)

“Our comprehensive broadcast partnership with TSN will once again make it possible for NCAA hockey fans in Canada to follow their favorite teams and players throughout the season,” said College Hockey Inc. Executive Director Mike Snee. “Close to 30% of NCAA players are Canadian, many of whom will be playing in the NHL in the future or representing Canada in the Olympics, World Juniors or other international tournaments.”

Seven NCAA games will be televised on TSN in the next five weeks, with another 22 games available to TSN subscribers on TSN GO. Among the highlights of the televised games:

  • Two games featuring defending NCAA champions and national No. 1 Denver
  • Doubleheader coverage of the Friendship Four semifinals from Belfast, Northern Ireland
  • First-round NHL draft picks Henrik Borgstrom (Denver/Florida Panthers), Casey Mittelstadt (Minnesota/Buffalo Sabres), Trent Frederic (Wisconsin/Boston Bruins) and Josh Norris (Michigan/San Jose Sharks), plus 2018 first-round prospect Quinn Hughes (Michigan)
  • Dozens of other NHL prospects including draft picks of Canadian NHL teams such as Adam Fox (Harvard/Calgary Flames), Will Lockwood (Michigan/Vancouver Canucks), Christian Wolanin (North Dakota/Ottawa Senators) and Erik Foley (Providence/Winnipeg Jets)

Twenty-two additional games on TSN GO in November and December give Canadian fans access to NCAA games that would be otherwise unavailable north of the border. Highlights of those games include:

  • Heated and historic NCAA hockey rivalries like Boston University-Boston College, Minnesota-Wisconsin and Yale-Quinnipiac
  • Calgary native Cale Makar (Massachusetts), the No. 4 overall pick of the Colorado Avalanche and a candidate for the Canadian World Junior Championship team
  • Potential 2018 Olympians including Canadian Dylan Sikura (Northeastern/Chicago Blackhawks)

TSN’s expanded coverage of NCAA hockey is available for live streaming and on-demand viewing to TSN subscribers through TSN GO. Nine games this season have already been made available on TSN GO.
