Beanpot Headlines Upcoming TSN Games

TSN’s coverage of NCAA hockey will feature 45 games in the next six weeks, highlighted by coverage of the men’s and women’s Beanpot tournaments, Boston’s historic celebration of college hockey.

Five games in the next six weeks are set to be televised on TSN or TSN2:

  • Mon., Feb. 4 – Harvard vs. Boston College (TSN2, 5 p.m. ET)
  • Mon., Feb. 4 – Northeastern vs. Boston University (TSN2, 8 p.m. ET)
  • Fri., Feb. 8 – Boston College at UMass Lowell (TSN2, 7 p.m. ET)
  • Mon., Feb. 11 – Beanpot championship (TSN2, 7:30 p.m. ET)
  • Fri., March 8 – New Hampshire at Northeastern (TSN, 7 p.m. ET)

This marks the fifth year of TSN’s coverage of the men’s Beanpot, which features Boston’s four Division I programs competing at TD Garden on the first two Mondays of February. Between them Boston College, Boston University, Harvard and Northeastern have 35 NHL draft picks on this year’s rosters and have produced 52 alumni who have appeared in the NHL in 2018-19, including Jack Eichel and Johnny Gaudreau.

The women’s Beanpot features the same four schools, which have produced alumnae like Kendall Coyne (Northeastern), Marie-Philip Poulin (Boston University), Angela Ruggiero (Harvard) and Alex Carpenter (Boston College). Northeastern (No. 3), Boston College (No. 7) and Boston University (No. 8) are all ranked among the top eight teams in the current national polls.

“The Beanpot is a fitting highlight for TSN’s NCAA hockey schedule in the next six weeks,” said College Hockey Inc. Executive Director Mike Snee. “That event captures the energy, talent and tradition that makes college hockey so special.”

TSN and TSN Direct subscribers will have access to 40 additional NCAA games on TSN.ca and the TSN App between now and March 10. That schedule of streaming games begins Friday with three games and features:

  • Appearances from 11 teams currently in the USCHO.com Top 20, including each of the top four teams in the nation
  • Heated and historic NCAA hockey rivalries like Maine-New Hampshire, Michigan-Michigan State and Colorado College-Denver
  • Some of the top stories in college hockey this season including No. 2 Massachusetts and fourth-year program and No. 16 Arizona State
  • Members of the 2019 Canadian National Junior Team Shane Bowers (Boston University/COL) and Ian Mitchell (Denver/CHI)
  • First-round NHL draft picks and Canada natives Cale Makar (Massachusetts/COL), Dante Fabbro (Boston University/NSH) and Jacob Bernard-Docker (North Dakota/OTT)
  • Top prospects for Canadian teams like Quinn Hughes (Michigan/VAN), Ryan Poehling (St. Cloud State/MTL), Cayden Primeau (Providence/MTL), Emilio Pettersen (Denver/CGY), Joe Woll (Boston College/TOR), Jonny Tychonick (North Dakota/OTT) and Bernard-Docker (North Dakota/OTT)

The NCAA hockey on TSN postseason broadcast schedule will be released in early March.
