Women’s Notes: Badgers Remain Unbeaten
Wisconsin Opens the Season with 12-Straight Wins
The Wisconsin Badgers won their 12th straight game of the season, tying for the third-longest streak in school history. They are six games shy of their longest season-opening winning streak, which was set in 2015-16 when they started with 18 consecutive victories.
Defensively, the Badgers have posted shutouts in their last four games, the most consecutive shutouts they’ve posted since the 2021-22 season. Sophomore goaltender Ava McNaughton (Seven Fields, Pa.) has five shutouts this season with a 0.82 goals-against average and a .961 save percentage.
Offensively, scoring contributions come from across the lineup, with seven players among the top-15 national scoring leaders and eight players with double-digit points. Graduate forward Casey O’Brien (Milton, Mass.) leads the country with seven goals and 19 assists for 26 points. Her 134 career assists are four shy of the school record currently held by Sara Bauer (2003-07).
Junior defenseman Caroline Harvey (Salem, N.H.) ranks second in the country in scoring with six goals and 17 assists for 23 points. Harvey has 97 career points and could become the fifth Badger defenseman to reach 100 career points.
Other point leaders include Laila Edwards (Cleveland Heights, Ohio), Cassie Hall (South Lyon, Mich.), Lacey Eden (Annapolis, Md.), Kirsten Simms (Plymouth, Mich.), and Kelly Gorbatenko (Barrington, Ill.).
The Badgers have the weekend off before resuming play against conference rival and No. 2-ranked Ohio State in Columbus on Nov. 15-16.

She’s such an incredible teammate and leader. Every day in practice she competes and raises the level of our team on a daily basis, and she has earned the right to call herself a 200-point player in the NCAA.”
