Western Michigan alum Glenn Healy is one of hockey's top analysts for CBC

Glenn Healy went to Western Michigan with no illusions about playing in the NHL, and after his freshman season the Pickering, Ontario, native saw 22 goaltenders get drafted. He wasn't one of them.

Nevertheless, his game developed during his time in Kalamazoo, and he became an All-American as a senior after earning CCHA Tournament MVP honors his junior year. Less than a year after graduating with a double-major in marketing and finance he made his NHL debut and went on to a 16-year pro career with four NHL teams.

"I will never look back on those four years and think they were anything but fantastic and great," the Hockey Night in Canada analyst told a crowd of 80 prospective players and their parents at a Reebok Collegiate Hockey Summit in Toronto this fall. "It was a great opportunity to develop, have a great time in university and get a great education."

Today Healy is better known as one of CBC's top analysts on Hockey Night in Canada. The former Bronco remains grateful to Western Michigan for all the success he has enjoyed, both on and off the ice. We caught up with him after he spoke at the summit to talk about his college experience:
