Caps scout and Northeastern alum A.J. Toews spoke to the group about his college experience.

For the seventh year the NHL's Washington Capitals hosted their Caps College Fair on Saturday, April 13, an event that drew 200 local players and parents to learn more about the opportunities available in college hockey.

Former college players and Capitals executives and broadcasters George McPhee (Bowling Green), Craig Laughlin (Clarkson) and A.J. Toews (Northeastern) addressed the group, while coaches from Division I, Division III and the American Collegiate Hockey Association were on hand to answer questions about their programs.

The event was the first of its kind in the NHL when it was introduced and a model for other NHL teams looking to expose area players to the college route.
