Commits Set for U17 Challenge
Ontario hosts World Under-17 Hockey Challenge Nov. 2-8.

Fifteen players who have committed to NCAA schools and several more recruits will take part in the upcoming World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, set for Nov. 2-8 in Sarnia and Lambton Shores, Ontario.

The 22-player U.S. roster for the event - comprised primarily of players from the National Team Development Program - includes 13 NCAA commits, led by five future Michigan Wolverines. In addition, Minnesota recruit William Fallstrom will represent Sweden, while Cornell recruit Michael O'Leary will play for one of Canada's three entries in the event, Canada White.

In all, nine schools have committed players set to participate, with Minnesota and Minnesota Duluth following Michigan with two players each.

The U.S. is the defending champion in the event, and has placed in the top three at the tournament eight straight times.

U.S. NTDP head coach and Michigan State alum Danton Cole leads the U.S. squad, which will compete in Group B with Canada Red, Slovakia and Sweden. Group A features Canada Black, Canada White, Finland and Russia.
