Nineteen NCAA alums get names etched on Stanley Cup, 13 of them as players

The names of the 2015-16 Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins have been etched on the Stanley Cup, with a record-tying 13 NCAA alumni among the players featured.

Six former NCAA players are among the Penguins hockey operations staff included on the Cup, including head coach Mike Sullivan (Boston University), associate general manager Jason Botterill (Michigan) and assistant general manager Bill Guerin (Boston College).

The 13 NCAA alumni players on the Cup match the 1995 New Jersey Devils for the most all-time. The Penguins used the most NCAA alumni in the Cup Final of any team ever to advance that far, with 11 former college players suiting up for each game against the San Jose Sharks.
