Goaltender Shane Starrett claims MVP as Falcons upend Boston College, Ohio State.

Air Force captured its first Ice Breaker Tournament championship thanks to a 2-1 win against Boston College and a shootout victory vs. Ohio State at Denver’s Magness Arena, less than an hour north of the service academy’s campus.
A shootout goal from Tyler Ledford (Colorado Springs, Colo./Wichita Falls-NAHL) and a save from goaltender Shane Starrett (Bellingham, Mass./South Shore-USPHL) were the deciding factors in the championship game that stood tied, 3-3, after 70 minutes.
Starrett earned tournament MVP honors after stopping 83 shots in two games. The only goal he allowed to Boston College came on a penalty shot, and he made 46 saves in the title game.
