Hosting the 2013 Frozen Four is another milestone in Pittsburgh’s evolution as a hockey city.

CONSOL Energy Center will host the 2013 Frozen Four.

Amateur hockey in and around Pittsburgh has grown tremendously, to the point that when the city hosts the Frozen Four in 2013, an area goaltender could win the national title for a third year in a row.

The first of those Pittsburgh-area goalies to win a national title, Minnesota Duluth’s Kenny Reiter, joined College Hockey, Inc. for a Reebok Collegiate Hockey Summit in Pittsburgh in June. We talked to him about the growth of hockey in his hometown.
