Former UMass Lowell star Connor Hellebuyck headlined an impressive list of goaltenders with NCAA experience featured by In Goal Magazine in the publication’s list of the top 50 NHL goaltending prospects. Hellebuyck, property of the Winnipeg Jets, ranked first on the list, one of six NCAA goalies in the top 14.

Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player Jon Gillies, who led Providence to the NCAA title, ranks 10th on the list, one spot behind Zane McIntyre (North Dakota).

Boston College junior Thatcher Demko (No. 12), North Dakota freshman Matej Tomek (No. 46) and Michigan Tech senior Jamie Phillips (No. 49) all made the list and will be playing NCAA hockey this fall. Yale’s Alex Lyon was mentioned as a prime candidate for the list – but as an undrafted free agent, didn’t meet the criteria to be included.

In all 14 goalies with NCAA experience and incoming freshman Tomek were featured on the 50-goalie list. Six goalies on the list were not drafted, five of whom played NCAA hockey.
