NHL Central Scouting forecasts another impressive NHL Draft for current and future NCAA players, listing 89 of them in its final rankings for the draft.

Boston University leads all schools with seven players in the rankings, including four among the top 18 North American skaters. In total, nine current or future college players are among the top 23 North American skaters, with another recruit (Henrik Borgstrom, Denver) ranked ninth among European skaters.

The Terriers' Charlie McAvoy, a freshman in 2015-16, leads all players with NCAA ties in the rankings at No. 6. McAvoy leads a group of 11 current college players highlighted in the rankings, with Wisconsin's Luke Kunin and Connecticut's Tage Thompson joining him in the top 20 at 11 and 20, respectively.

More than half of all Division I teams (34 of 60) have a player or recruit featured in the rankings. Closely behind BU in terms of players listed were Boston College (6), Michigan (6) and Denver (5). Four players in the rankings are uncommitted but playing in NCAA-eligible junior leagues.

The 89 players in the rankings are an increase from last year (82), when three current NCAA players were taken in the top 10 of the draft and 56 were taken overall.

The 2016 NHL Draft will be held June 24-25 in Buffalo, N.Y.
