With former college hockey players in the NHL hitting an all-time high, the Rochester Americans checked in with two of their own former NCAA stars to talk about their college experience.
Tim Schaller, an AHL rookie out of Providence, and Brayden Irwin, a fourth-year pro from Vermont, joined host Katie Gaus in this episode of Amerks All-Access to discuss the college route and how their time on campus prepared them for pro hockey.
The Americans, Buffalo's AHL affiliate, also feature Kevin Porter (Michigan), Drew Bagnall (St. Lawrence) and Connor Knapp (Miami) on their roster, among other former NCAA stars. Rochester will face the Chicago Wolves in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs in a series that begins Friday night in Rochester.
