UPDATED with Sweden's final roster

USA Hockey announced the final roster for the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship, a group that features 12 current and future NCAA players representing nine schools.

Earlier this week the U.S. announced its team captains, with Zach Werenski (Michigan) wearing the 'C' and Louie Belpedio (Miami), Auston Matthews and Colin White (Boston College) serving as alternates.

In addition to the NCAA representatives on the U.S. roster, Boston University sophomore Brandon Hickey made Canada's final roster. Two NCAA players - Massachusetts' William Lagesson, and Boston University's Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson - made Sweden's final roster.

Tournament play gets underway on Dec. 26 with the U.S. facing Canada in its first game. All U.S. games will be televised in the U.S. on NHL Network.

The U.S. roster features three of the top 14 scorers in NCAA hockey this season. North Dakota's Nick Schmaltz and Brock Boeser, linemates who have combined for 47 points in 20 games, are joined by BC's White (23 points in 16 games) in that group.

The U.S. coaching staff consists of former Providence star Ron Wilson as head coach, plus NCAA alums Chris Chelios (Wisconsin), Danton Cole (Michigan State) and Kevin Reiter (Alaska Anchorage) as assistants.
