A talented incoming group that includes eight first-round NHL draft picks and several 2017 NHL Draft prospects is highlighted in ISS Hockey's Top 30 Incoming Freshmen list, released Thursday.
ISS Hockey, the world's leading scouting and information provider on hockey prospects, gives North Dakota center Tyson Jost the nod in the No. 1 spot, followed by Boston University freshmen Clayton Keller, Kieffer Bellows and Dante Fabbro.
Keller, Bellows and Fabbro are three of the five Terrier rookies in the top 30, as they are joined by defenseman Chad Krys and goaltender Jake Oettinger. In all, 17 schools are represented in the list.
Oettinger is one of four first-time NHL Draft-eligible freshmen in the top 30. Michigan's Luke Martin - one of four Michigan freshmen in the list - leads the group at No. 6, followed by Michigan State's Patrick Khodorenko (No. 15), Oettinger (No. 20) and St. Cloud State's Ryan Poehling (No. 22).
Eighteen NHL teams have prospects among the top 30, led by Carolina with three. Boston, Colorado, Detroit, Nashville, the New York Islanders and Toronto each have two prospects featured.
